Day 1 is over

I am not sure if I made it to 10pm. I woke up at 11:20 and turned of the lights. However I am scoring a victory because I didn't go to the bedroom until 9:30 and usually I'm in there at 8:30. All other items were definitely achieved. Today is my first day for the green tea because I was inspired to add that item while drinking my coffee yesterday. I am choking down savoring my first cup now.

Tommy is pondering a list. He is really having trouble coming up with 10 things. "Its hard to be humble when you are so perfect in every way."

Work bit it yesterday. I was getting that "Take this job and shove it" feeling pretty heavily for awhile there. I am wonder how it will turn out?

4. No Fast Food!
5. Knit at least 10 rows a day.
6. Stay up til 10pm.
7. Blog
8. Walk Me around the cornfield.
9. Buy nothing that isn't on a list.
10. Read at least 10 pages of my book.

Wish me luck.

We are getting back up on the real estate horsie

Tom has a line on a house that is being sold by an estate trust for (allegedly) just what the tax appraisal is. He has already seen it and likes it. Mainly because it has a fence up for Cass already. She REALLY needs one. This has been so hard on her I think. I know she misses Tony. Boo just isn't as much fun for her. Of course the house is old and trashed with no heat. So Hey- maybe we CAN afford it.

If this doesn't work I think we are gonna break down and get a mortgage. I just hate the thought of more debt especially in this economy and in this area where we aren't likely to make very much moola. We knew that going in tho so it may just be time to suck it up and get the important part. A HOME with out stuff unpacked.

I made stew for the first time ever and it was SO GOOD. I hads to make something like that because it got so chilly and rainy around here this week. That's right Texas people Chilly as in the high was 70. Jealous much?

All our frilly dreams are torn

The neighborhood is riddled with crime.  Break ins are a constant reality - we backed out.

Discouraged? Yep.

They have accepted our offer

Woo hoo

I may get to unpack in a month or so.

This weekend was a blast.  It was an overcast day on Saturday so I think some people didn't go to the park.  That meant very short lines for the roller coasters.  It was awesome and we had just so so so much fun.  Afterwards we went to eat at Chicago's Uno Pizza and Grill which I hadn't even ever heard of before.  So yummy and so nice to sit down and relax after the long day of walking and eating food on a stick.  Then we all four went and hung out at the hot tub.   It was a relief to soak my aching dogs let me tell you.
Speaking of Dogs as soon as we get moved in we are gonna get one.  more excitement!

on a sad note.  They chopped the corn down.  Oh the horror.  Tommy is beside himself.

hiya

WE are gonna all the summer we can in to this weekend. We are heading off to a Busch Gardens in a couple of hours. We are going with two probable Republicans definite OU fans. And we couldn't be happier. My cousin the former homecoming queen Cindy is here visiting with her hilarious husband Gene. I am so exited about it I am (of course) up way to early.

But wait it gets better:

After the park it has been decided that since we have to take them to the airport tomorrow at the - excuse the visual but this is one of my favorite expressions - buttcrack of dawn - to save time we are gonna stay at a hotel. A Hotel Room - Were the pee on the floor is not from our dog! Were no cat is going to insist on being fed at 1 and 2 and 3 am. Woo Friggin Hoo we are gonna have big fun!!!!!!!!

Oh yea also we are putting in another bid on a house. I am tired of getting my hopes up about this crap so I will post more if they accept.

Hannah

This is what Hannah looked like.  I am wondering how all my
Texas friends are handling Ike.

Life on Mars

Not really Mars but look at this inhabitant.

Texas called

Some one called about Large Moving Buckets. Who'd a thunk we would miss those?

Anyhoo - we are safe and sound and slightly(altho it is wrong to feel this way) disappointed in Hannah our first Virgina Tropical storm. Altho the glass on the storm door did shatter when the wind whipped it outta my hand. Why does the wind never whip anything outta Tommy's hands?

Tommorrow we have appointments to look at two houses. Wish us luck.

and so it ends

Well the house we were sure we wanted and set on getting is no longer on the table. The sellers were not interested in actually selling so it seems and couldn't meet our terms. While we were waiting on there answer we went back out to the house for another look. And we were less enthused. It is just so trashed and completely infested with ROACHES hundreds of them they fall on you when you open the door. I would have had to wear a a hazmat suit to work on the place. When I was a kid Mom bought a trailer for us to live in that had been filled with trash for several years before she bought it. We cleaned it up but no matter how many times Mom nuked it the roaches never went away. They would cary off whole french fries in one nite, and crawl on me when I was trying to sleep. I was ok with it I guess at the time - but as an adult I feel very Scarlett O'Hara about it "as God as my witness I will never cohabitate with roaches again"

So here we go again. Oy Vey.
