happy thanksgiving eve eve

We have heard that they are going to replace the pump.  When? well that is the question isn't it?  Tommy spent the weekend insulating the floor of the house we are staying in.  I joined him under there on Sunday. I can say with authoritaye thatg it sucks sucks sucks to insulate qa house floor.  Gross and smelly and cold.  But the reults? So worth it.  It is so much warmer inside now.  I can get buy with just one pair of socks per foot.

We are getting the whole four day weekend and I am so glad!!  Altho it is starting to seem likely tha I lwill be spending it in the throes of a cold.

I am worried about today.

It is 37 degrees in the living room.  I put salt instead of sugar in my coffee.  Maybe I" should just go back to bed?

So the house inspection was a bust.  Someone stole the well pump.  Until the current owners replace it (which based on their lack of enthusiasm for turning on the power might be never) there is no point in having it inspected.  We are going to break down and get the antique oil stoves turned on in this house.  Thank God!

Gotta go - too cold.  Altho I cannot resist painting a mental picture for you (cause my camera batteries died)  Tommy took Cassie out for her morning constituional wearing blue fluffy slippers white socks pulled over blue long johns, a long john shirt, a long white terry cloth robe, a polar vest and a stocking cap.  except for the robe, vest and slippers that is what he slept in.

o and it did snow but I missed it.

49 degrees

That's not so bad you say.  Did I mention that is in the livingroom?  And tonight it might snow.  SNOW.  I love snow.  At least I used to when I lived in a cozy house.  We will see if the affection remains living in an icebox.

Did you miss me?

Things have happened recently so I thought I'd post.

I quit my job -because My timing is impeccable.  I am to much of a liberal to work for an extreme conservative we had shall we say theological differences.
I should be there for awhile still tho.  I have promised to stay and train as long as needed.  That makes three jobs I have quit this year.  I used to be so stable what happened to me?  Obviously I have quit for good reasons but still ....

Tommy went to Texas for a visit.  When He got there he found his father seriously ill.  His two brothers were also surprised at the turn George had taken in the last two weeks since anyone had visited.  They triple teamed him and convinced him to go to the VA where he he remains - today is day 8 without a confirmed diagnosis.  Altho all signs are pointing to the big C he may possibly have tuberculosis.  A big enough possibility that he is in quarantine.  Tommy is back here with me now and having to rely on long distance reports.  Bless his heart he is really having a bad time.

Although yesterday we had the kind of day you fantasize about when moving to another part of the country.  We had egg white omelets (cause we are so healthy now) and hash browns (ok not all that healthy)  then went to a local wilderness preserve to bask in the warmish day and beautiful sunshine.  and I took lot and lots and lots of photos.  So many photos Tommy wandered off.  Then we came home and had our first Virginia fire in the fire pit.  With hot dogs!! (ok forget healthy)  Then we went over to Mom and Pat's where we munched on delish Cajun Shrimp a Pat specialty beloved by all.

Also since I last post America voted with ME for the first time since 1996.  And even better this time My state went with ME.  That never happened in Texas.  (my county eh not so much)  I am so happy as Bill Clinton told us in 2000 if you want to live like a Republican, Vote like a Democrat.  And the fact that now every child in America will know that no mater where they start they can make it to the top...That is just the icing isn't it?

The house we are trying to buy?  No termites, Septic is Ok and there we stay waiting for a very old electric bill to be paud for so that we can have a house inspection.
